This was a coordinated hunt by this group of White Pelicans...they swam together and would all plunge their huge beaks into the water at the same time as they rounded up the school of fish...amazing to watch

Notice the red eye and green lores between the beak and eye...this is intense breeding plummage that only occurs for a few days max...especially the red eye changes
Waking up in the rookery marsh
This egret was waking slowly as he was hit by the sun. Taken at the Gatorland Rookery Marsh. Thiese bushes and trees line and overhang a large gator pond with 130, some very large gators.

Slash Pine at Corkscrew Reserve
This large reserve has a 2+ mile boardwalk thru a large swamp. We happened to not see a lot of wildlife, but it was enjoyable none the less!

Entertaining encounter between a Cormorant minding his own business and a Reddish Egret which came right up to the cormornat and began challenging him right in his face!!
Not sure what that was all about, but I guess they worked it out and parted ways
